France’s highest appeals court has ruled that the head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, must stand trial for her role in a multimillion-euro government payment to a controversial tycoon who supported former president Nicolas Sarkozy.

A charge of negligence in the use of public money carries a one-year jail sentence and a €15,000 fine.
Even if found guilty, take into account the trial costs and figure out how big a further waste of money....public money.

I just have this feeling a deal will be made behind closed doors, probably some peanut fine that adds up to a joke. If this is the case just more evidence of corruption in high places.
