Tennessee Volunteer Women's basketball coach, Pat Summitt has passed away this morning at the age of 64. Pat coached the Tennessee Volunteers for 38 years and has never had a losing season and won more games than anyone in college basketball history, man or woman. Pat was diagnosed with early onset dementia in the form of Alzheimer’s.
Quote : Pat Summitt shocked the sports world in May 2011 when she announced she would continue at the University of Tennessee despite the diagnosis (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/college/womensbasketball/story/2011-08-23/Pat-Summitt-determined-to-face-down-Alzheimers-challenge/50114864/1). It was as if she were staring down her disease with the same icy glare she made famous while winning eight national championships and the respect of a nation that didn’t pay much attention to women’s sports when she was growing up. Pat was a force in elevating women's sports, especially women's basketball http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/6ccdcaf6c06414a3568623ad643d345469bf9210/c=524-0-4107-2694&r=x408&c=540x405/local/-/media/2016/06/26/USATODAY/USATODAY/636025447354380602-C03-SUMMITT-13-48442165.JPG

Condolences to Pat's friends, family and former players on their loss.
Rest in Peace Pat.
