Hi Arch
Make sure you use a registry cleaner before any downloading or re-installing.
Re-boot your system.
Post #70 How To Use The Free Registry Cleaner Ccleaner (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2202382&postcount=70)
Quite often folders are left behind containing data that are not part of the uninstalling process.
Check around by using the search tool (File Explorer for Win10).
There is no reason why a new or re-installation should cause problems unless
your Steam downloads are causing a conflict.
Check your Program Files (x86) folder to see what is going on.

Nope, uninstall, ccleaner, reboot, instal game, 1.4, rplace files for no cd, disable high dpi....crash as soon as the loading bar ends...:hmph:

Hi Arch
Check that your gpu drivers are up to date.
I assume you are trying to load the stock game?
Not starting the game from any shortcut?
Compatibility mode for Win10 > Win7
Make sure the SH3.exe is run as an Administrator.
Check your SH3.exe version.
Go to > Properties.
Go to > Details.
What is the Product Version?

Hi Arch
I am wondering if it is a problem with the actual Steam download and whether there is a corrupt file?
Is there any way of checking whether all the downloaded bytes total can be checked?
If your Steam Game Folder is downloaded into your Program Files (X86) Files or Program Files folder theses are protected directories.
You could try installing to a different directory and making a new installation folder something like C:\Steam Games.
In Downloads > Steam Library Folders is apparently where you can set the changes from the existing to the new one.
I do not know why there should be this problem as I am sure there many Steam Gamers who seem to be ok.
A dvd installation could also be considered if you really want SHIII as you would then own it.
I have run out of ideas.

I wish i had something to suggest Arch, but i honently have no idea.
Just for reference, i too had windows 10, sh3 steam version and it ran "out of the box", no special settings needed.
Im now back to Windows7 (thank god), and here too it runs without issue.
All i can sugest, try one of the supermods that modify the installation, or maybe the hsie patcher.
good luck!
