Interesting. However, I noticed the map only starts up after that rather grim period of enforced immigration.

Not surprisingly Mexico at the top of the list.

Interesting. I thought immigration would stop in 1861-1865 :hmmm:
I like the way that barely anyone from Australia moves there :O:

Oh thank god, I thought the environmental influence, upbringing and herital traits make you a close minded nationalist.
It seems living on an island is the real reason.
I'm safe

Wait until global warming makes you an island, then no-one will be safe.
Of course, if the water ever gets that far inland then there won't be many nations left to be a close minded nationalist against. :hmmm:

Those who live on an island have a natural 'wall' allowing them and their government to easily control its borders. I just found it somewhat hypocritical that an island dweller would actually think to call someone close minded and criticize another for desiring the same luxury they have.
Immigration is a good thing I know Im the grandson of an immigrant. However the uncontrolled flow of undocumented immigrants is asking for trouble. If it takes a wall so be it.

Whenever any water reaches Finnland, it will freeze. Now and forever.

You did not even need a passport or identity card, before 1918.
Regarding immigrants from Mexico, i would propose to keep the drug trade in check, in your own country. Because a lot of Mexicans want to flee from the drug wars, that devastate whole Mexico.

My grandfather arrived here in 1902 from Stavanger via Liverpool. When the ship arrived in Boston they just didnt open the door and let everyone find their own way. Each one was accounted for, identified and looked over by a doctor before they were allowed to go any further. If you were under age and alone, like he was, he needed to be met by a relative. There was control.
Down south its an open border and a lot of people are just wandering in. As far as Im concerned a wall will do just fine to help alleviate both the drug smuggling and illegal immigration problems.

It doesnt have to be like a garrisoned great wall of China with guards lining the wall every 100 feet. The benifits of modern technology have made walls cheaper to build a d maintain and sensors can dramatically reduce the amount guards.
Plus Trump said he would make Mexico pay for it anyway :rotfl2:
Trumps wall really isn't going to change that though, is it? It's like most of his big schemes, populist, grand, easy to sell and ultimately a giant flop.

Exactly. We also have several divisions of federal troops stationed in Texas and other border states who could do a lot to aid Border Patrol if we had the resolve to actually fix the problem.
Trump will now ban immigration from countries with a history of terrorism....
So I guess that's no immigration from here then, or Spain. :haha:

Isnt that the case with any politician trying to get elected? They promise the world and to solve all the problems! After its all over most voters forget why it was they elected the person into office anyway. And the media moves on to the next headline. :hmm2:
