As I stated in my intro, I have tons of questions, mainly about modding. From what I can tell, there are several ways to work around the fatigue for your crew. I've always tried to play 'vanilla', but I've always hit a brick wall when it came to keeping my crew in shape during patrols. There is nothing more frustrating than coming up to the huge convoy, eyes gleaming with the thought of sunken merchants and warships, only to get pwned due to your crew being worked to the bone. So I am gonna break down and think about adjusting my strategy outside the game with mods. Before I begin asking what I should use, I need guidance on how to mod in the first place. Again, I normally play 'vanilla' so my experience is limited. Could one of you (or more if you feel froggy) explain how modding works, and maybe direct me toward a tutorial of some sort which could help me along in the process? Thanks all!

Modding is basically adding components to the game for realism, measuring tools, sound, boat physics, GUI, strategy, multiplayer, and the list goes on.

First thing you need to ask yourself is, what kind of mods are you looking for?

What kind of sub simmer are you?

You have to ask these questions, because you can't have all the mods, and some mods actually conflict with other mods and cause some serious game crashes.

If you like vanilla, there are little single mods to add tools to your nag map, while super mods will completely change the way your game is played.

You need to experiment. Start with a single small mod from the download section, and work your way up!

Welcome aboard DeeCee!
Regarding your particular interest (crew fatigue), the file that controls it is data/cfg/basic.cfg. And the section for fatigue is [FATIGUE_COEF]

I too had this problem with vanilla. But i dint want to install a mod tha completely disables fatigue, so i made my own version based on GWX model:
- Crew takes a lot longer to get fatigued in all compartments but more on the torpedo ones.
- The two rest compartments restore fatigue faster.

If you want it i can give it to you, just PM me your email. Forum wont let me attach it here.
