Patrol history vs Captain's Log

I've just finished my first patrol in SH3. I sank 2 ships. After ending my patrol, the captain's log shows the 2 ships I sank, but the Patrol History shows no ships sunk. Why ? What am I doing wrong ?

I'm not sure, but before going any further I would suggest exiting the game, restarting and going back into that career. Some things only update at the start of the next patrol.
