I'm getting a bit tired of having to clean the heads on my inkjet printers (mainly down to timescales between use) so I'm thinking of going down the laser route.

Can anyone suggest a colour multifunction (scan/copy/) laser printer available in the UK I could consider.

The fax option I can take or leave but ideally I would like a Wi-Fi option.

TIA

Well, over on this side of the pond we have "color" multifunction printers, so we couldn't help you anyway!:haha::haha:

I'm just using a monochrome laser printer and it fixed my inkjet addiction well enough. If I want color, okay colour, I can get any office supply place to print me something for next to nothing on equipment I couldn't afford!

Check Amazon. Here in the states, HP seems to have the highest rated multifunction laser printers at Amazon. Uncle Neal would really like it if you got one from Amazon through SubSim.:03:

Thus far Brother looks like being by far the most expensive for toner cartridge replacements.

I can't be of much help with laser printers, I've yet to get one. But I understand they are a lot more affordable than years back.

Dell seems to have broken the Internet with its line of color multifunction laser printers. They go from $169.99 to $399.99. Their middle of the road H625cdw costs $250, prints 25 pages per minute color or black and white, has a 50 sheet automatic feed, you get 3000 black pages, 2500 color pages per toner cartridge and the stuff can't dry out and doesn't cost $1000 per gallon!

The H625cdw has a recommended monthly duty cycle of 2000 copies, so it's not the disposable junk that inkjet printers are.

3000 page black cartridge is $71. 2500 pg color cartridges are $106. A don't imagine that 3rd parties have begun making cartridges for less, but it's still a magnitude cheaper per page at about 12¢ per color page and less than 2¢ per b/w page.

Holy crap! Amazon already has compatible cartridges for sale.

^Nice one, just the sort of information/response I was looking for

Up to now I'm trying to find a balance between a unit I won't be using very often, reasonably priced as well as not too pricey on toner cartridge replacement. Probably mission impossible because the more comparative data I try to digest, the harder the equation becomes.

Up to now I have four under consideration but one of them as per your example is a Dell E525W.

The cost of the above is approximately £150 and a full set of toner cartridges is around the £50 mark.

I think one of the best and "inexpensive" laser printers is the Samsung CLP-360. It is fast, comes with USB, LAN and WLAN access and is fuzz-free. Five years and no problem. But it has no scan function..
