I have purchased silent hunter 5 with the code and box with disk. the game arrived today and am super pumped to play it. I installed the game fully and was ready to play. I updated it and clicked play. U play launches and requests the code on the box, i input it and am told the product is tied to another account. Is there a way to bypass this code thingy or am i going to have to send it back? Any help would be appreciated as i am really pumped to play this with wolves of steel installed.

You don't mention where it was purchased from but if it is secondhand the chances are the previous owner has already registered the code.

I did purchase it second hand but the guy was saying it was unused. So there is definitely no way past this?

Not that I know of. I actually bought SH5 new on cd back in 2010, registered it on Uplay, lost track of the account because i gave up on Ubisoft at that point because of the DRM scandal, changed my email eventually. therefore when i wanted to load SH5 up again I have the ridiculous siuation of it being tied to my own account which i donīt have access for any more.
i finally gave in and just recently bought another version on gamersgate, so I have bought this game twice now. But there are some excellent mods out now so was worth it. but not because of Ubisoft.
Dont laugh :-)

It sounds like the guy lied as if it was unused you would not have a problem.
Second hand SH5 discs are unfit for purpose and can only be used by the original purchaser.
If you bought through Ebay or Paypal you should be able to get you money back.
SH5 is locked for life on 3 things
Email address

CD key.
Changing your email address means you will need to purchase a new copy.
It is worth buying a new dvd version rather than a download as you own it.
