OK I may be barking up the wrong tree but something looks odd here. Today I updated the avast program, oh just to add its the free version anyway when this process was completed avast installed their avast safe zone browser on my PC without my permission.

Bloody cheek! :hulk:

So I removed it which was straight forward but here is the thing I was asked to restart my PC to complete the removable? That's news to me, never had to do a restart to remove a browser before. :-?

After a spot of reading on the avast forums a lot people are not happy about not being ask if they want it or not, what concerns me and other is why after doing some research it seems avast safe zone browser needs access to the Kernel...why?

I'm no expert and as said I may barking up the wrong tree or do I have a point to be concern about this.

Using Avast (internet security) for years and have never run into this problem, with each update it ask if I wish to install safezone onto my browser which I decline and that's that.

I see, seems to only affect the Free Users (I'm using the Internet Security of theirs which I pay for)

I'd agree that when you updated it should have it as a optional installation like I get each time when I update instead of installing it right away without asking.

Just hope avast gets the message as clearly there are many more who are cheesed off.

Every company is so obsessed with monetizing that they've forgotten that selling is supposed to be a voluntary exercise on both sides of the exchange. They deserve the heat they get.
