Hi people,

I am pretty new to this whole subsim thing, so if i sound like an idiot do forgive me. I have been playing sh3 for a while and recently decided to install gwx 3.0 the mod is brilliant but I have one small problem. I have completely random crashes, sometimes when I'm loading in, when i speed up time compression, Or just when i turn on the game and load in, it drops to like 3 fps and i am forced to ctrl+alt+delete out of there.

Some help would be appreciated as i am a bit stuck here.

2 questions:

When you installed GWX, did you get an error message or did the install go silky smooth?

Any other mods and/or are you using SH3Commander?

Hi thanks for the response on such short notice,
I installed gwx 3 onto my computer and the default location was false, (because i bought the game on steam) it was trying to find the game in my Ubisoft folder. I promptly told it to install on my steam folder and after that the download was smooth.

Also i am using no other mods. a completely clean install.

I'm sorry but I don't have the Steam version so I can't tell if copying to a physical DVD is necessary or not. I would think it isn't strictly necessary.

Hang on and someone with experience with Steam/GWX might chime in soon.

Thanks for all the responses.
But unfortunately, I am losing the will to live. I disabled some conflicting mods hoping it would fix the problem wich it did, temporarily. After about 2 hours of game time, the game crashed. I hoped this would be a one of but unfortunately the problem persisted. I could never load in and even if I finally did there were NO SHIPS IN THE GAME. I have no idea whether these two problems are related but I would really appreciate some more feedback.

P:S: I am on the verge of purchasing Sh5 and from what i have heard that's not a position someone should want to be in.

Do you have a campaign file enabled?

Welcome to SubSim.

Hi au-boat
The Wolves Of Steel mega mod has transformed SH5 into a very playable and extremely stable game (highly recommended).
The Steam download for SH5 does not support TDW's Generic File Patcher application which is essential to be able to play SH5.

I may have been able to fix the crashes. I had black campaign enabled and then I disabled it and used merged and it worked :rotfl2: I have yet to have a problem yet but it seems unpredictable so I will keep my eyes peeled.
