STEAM AND GWX3 CRASH AT MISSION START

Ok all u subsim admerials, need your help here.. im an old user of sh3/gwx but have ben away a while since i got a new rig and my old sh3 disk got scratched.. i digress... good news.. steam has sh3 on digital dl so i get it right. I get it running after changing some resolution settings check. I run sh3 commander with it, although its kinda bugy as far as patroll options happening right every patrol its other wise working chek. now the issue..gwx3.. it takes the install and it fires right up no issue their.. save nomatter what i seem to do it crashes at about 90% mission start every time. iv tried about every thing i ccan think ov.. iv un installed and re installed a fiew times.. steam sh3+gwx3=90%load in at mission start ctd. I have tried this with and with out sh3 commander so iv ruled that one out i think, iv tried using all the run with settings i can think of.. im at a loss here. im running win7 home pro i believe with a quad core gen 2 chip, 8 on the ram, and an nvidia 980 gtx. just a note iv logged about a week of time vinilla sh3 alreaedy with out issues svae for the late war non stop air spam!.. plz this is my 2-3 post for help in different sections of the forium and iv gotten no responce so i made my own thread since the others seem dead already. thx for any help and time spent on me in advance.

no i get the generic this program has encountered a program and needs to close.. i havent looked at the details of the crash and posted.. im realy not a tec guy... if you need anything just ask but be warned i may have questions on how to do it. thx

right now im running sh3 vanilla with shcommander installed with no issues.. i can clean it all out and do the fresh install then add gwx3 and see what comes up..like i said i tried, i used to run it and it appears it dose work with steam version and windows 7 reportedly but i have ben doing something wrong.. im trying t find the md5 mate program to check the files md5hash codes.. that's where im at is just verifying the integrity of the dl atm. but im not having luck finding the program either. love is sometimes hard work.

If memory serves me right (been a while since I downloaded GWX) there is at least one download location with a faulty GWX rar file. Did you get any errors when installing GWX, about a corrupt file?

EDIT: Did you get the additional files needed for GWX3 and Cmdr to work together?

ok theirs more then one question here... first the install has ben flawless every time with zero errors... iv done this 5 times now.. and for the second question about sh3 commander... yes i got the extra files and ruled sh3commander out all together as iv tryed gwx3.0 clean and with sh3 commander on 2 different instals with same results. As far as i can remember i didnt need any other files for 3.0 when i used that on my old machine.. hope that helps

if any one has had any luck running gwx with steam plz pipe in with how espicialy if your a win 7 usuer

I had this problem too.

Right click on your sh3.exe → properties → compatibility (set to Vista or XP) → Check "Always run as administrator" → Apply → Done.

Hope this helps. Oh and running program as admin is optional (for me at least) but if you continue to have problems then keep it checked, the compatibility is a must however.
