Hello,
im running Wolves of Steel Mod and getting the Hang for Real Navigation. Cant use Sextant yet and still learning.
I watched the Tutorials on Real Navigation. I use the Scripts for Real Navigation with the Right Nautical Time and the Navigator is doing his job. But he is way off the Mark.
Sometimes i had 2 Celestial Fix taken from him after around not more than 4 Hours and they are 30-40km! apart.
I got into the TDW Options viewer and changed the Maximal Error% for Dead Rekoning on 1 (i guess its %) and still he is off the Mark. Same Errors
With 4 Bearing Method still learning i want to minimize the Errors of those Fixes. Is this Bug? How is the System working? Do you Manually "koppeln" (is it called in German) your way? Is there some drift of the Boat and it dont go straight for ex. Course 270° for 4 Hours?
How do you Real Nav? Just activate the Scripts? Do you give manually Order for Navigator if you need more Nav Points?
Pretty confused.

Hi Taki
If you want your navigator to give you very accurate fixes then you will need to make changes to both patches 1 and 6 in the real navigation tab in TDW's OFEV.
Disable the mods first.

dead recognition can not be 100% accurate also the celestial fix is not 100% accurate ......
yup there is a drift all depends of the weather if u have bad weather with big waves the drift is pretty huge also when u give the new course the bout doesn't turn instantly cos it's not a car need some space and time to change the direction of your heading and also from there comes a bit of error but u can change all errors from option file viewer how theberbster said in the post abowe

Thx for these advice. I just read through the Tutorial once more.
I found the Sentence where i have to disable the Mods first. Now the Effects take place and everything is more precise. Suits me better atm!
Thx
Someone of you doing Deck Reckogning Manually? If so, how accurate do you get? How you take the Drift into account?
Silent Hunter 5 can be overwhelming at first. About 20 Hours into Testing and into the Game i just managed to sink my Second Ship in Campaign and the First British Merchant after 2 Hurricans attacked my Boat earlier that Day! :timeout:

Thank you Sjizzle!
That was exactly what i was looking for.
Hope this will help me get Celestial Fix on Stars (when i can read them) in Partly Cloudy Conditions when the Navigator refuses to take a fix.
