Now that is some big hail stones!:o I sure wouldn't want to be caught outside in that.
Is that a hail storm or a civil war cannon bombardment? :o

Following these kind of storms around and processing insurance claims is what Golden Rivet does. I imagine he's going to be busy with this.
.
It doesn't do great things to aircraft either, I imagine that sensible aircraft routed around that monster though.

My car is worth €200 so it would make less than €200 damage :03:

I'm working the Plano, Tx storm and anticipate receiving Wylie assignments soon. Been running non stop just about since I got here. Very heavy damage there. Vinyl siding just completely machine gunned off the side of the houses. Some of the hail stones penetrated the roof surface and ceiling drywall into the residences. Most severe hail damage I've seen yet.
With the rain over the last 24 hours I've had to reschedule field work and that has given me some much needed down time.
the videos above are quite accurate

Well two bits of good news.
1. She's insured for that
2. She's snug as a bug in a rug back home because every RV park within 45 miles of here is booked solid with a 45+ day waiting list to get in

That sucks, does that happen often?

This is a first for me. I've never had a problem getting into an RV park

How come? RV's became very popular all of a sudden or is out of the necessity that more people get RV's?

Firstly, there aren't a whole lot of RV Parks around the DFW metroplex. Maybe a dozen. But the main reason is that the area has suffered a short series of tornadoes followed by two back to back "hail storm of the century" events so every roofer, contractor, windshield repair guy, painter, insurance adjuster and auto body dent repair guy within 400 miles has descended into the area.
Literally something I'd expect to see more likely following a major hurricane
EDIT: the next challenge becomes finding a hotel that won't destroy your daily income. The hotel I'm in right now is filled with guys like me who have negotiated special rates for long stays. I'm currently at $49.99 a night. It's not as comfortable as the RV would be. But perhaps it is a bit more conveniently located as far as proximity to my work area. But at $350 a week it's not cutting into my bottom line much at all. Even though the RV park would only cost about that much for an entire month.

It's official: god hates Texas. :)
What is with the Texas German Beer Festival? Does it have to be cancelled?

Wurstfest (http://wurstfest.com/)? That's in November, I believe.
Oktoberfest is the month before.
And the Big Texas Beer Fest is next month (http://houston.bigtexasbeerfest.com/)
I've been out in golf ball size hail just to pick them up back in the mid 60s. Yeah they freeking hurt. Tho they didn't do the damage that DWF hail storm did coming thru the windows, as it only lasted less than 5 minutes where I was up in Northern NY. Windows, roofs, and cars had little or no damage. I see we were real lucky compared to DFW.
I can't imagine a hail storm like that one and the second video with baseball size hail. Unreal.
