Cannot Patch she

Frustrated, bought download to SH3, bought DVD to SH3 in attempt to patch to 1.4b and the LSH3. Tried patches from different sources. Keeps telling me it cannot patch because of unknown version. Not patch and mod savey but love the game. Is there somewhere I can buy a DVD or a new game download already patched? Still playing original version. Running win10 on a 64 system. Would greatly appreciate any direction in this matter

Keep in mind there are different versions of the 1.4 patch for different countries. See if you can find a patch version that matches the game's "country".

[HW3]

Most, if not all, downloads and DVD's purchased since 2007 are already patched to 1.4b. If in doubt, check the version number in the SH3 .exe by right clicking it and selecting properties then version. Or just start the game and check the lower right corner of the main game screen for v1.4b.

Look on the box. What is the date? Run the game and look at the version. The odds are the game is 2007 or newer, and that it's already version 1.4. If it by chance says 1.3 then you are good to go, because it's the final released version.

In other words, it probably can't patch it because it's already patched.
