Blakes 7's Gareth Thomas has died

Just heard on the BBC that Gareth Thomas, who famously played the irascible title character, has died.

I enjoyed Blakes 7, a sometimes dark but totally engrossing sci-fi series, and like Doctor Who designed well despite it's small production budget.

Thomas did fine work as Roj Blake. He was certainly missed when he departed the show, despite actor Paul Darrow picking up and doing a brilliant job in a totally different way.

Saw the show last year and I agreed with Torplexed! They did a wonderful sci-fi design of the series. Heck, I love the weapon design and how they draw like a western gun and has shape of a blade weapon.

I imagined this:
Avon: "Well now. Blake, what is this of dying before me? You have to be number one in every thing?"

What a blow..

Funny watching Blake and Avon trade verbal blows at each other. The chemistry between Gareth and Paul bought a another level to Blakes 7. That's two of them now gone, David Jackson (Gan) also passed away at 71 back in 2005.

Gareth Thomas starred in seasons 1 and 2 and guest appearance in season 3 final and came back in the grand final episode called Blake in season 4.
