First of all i want to say thank you to this community for the great and hard job. I´m new in silent hunter 5. I bought my sh5 (downloaded) from gamesrocket (Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic - Collector Edition) .

I was thinking about installing the megamod and the pacher but i´m wondering if my version belong to the steam or the dvd category. May be this is a really stupid question but i´m not able to find an answer on the forum. Thank you and best regards to everyone.

It does not state on the gamesrocket website that you have the Steam version so I would say it is DVD equivalent and TDW's Generic File Patcher compatible

I did it!!! I unistalled everything yesterday and i´ve reinstalled sh5 with the wos megamod and then i activated the pach following the official instructions.

Everything looks grate. I just ´ve the following issues.

1- After sinking task force on the first mission (baltic) the date is 0000000 for one of the warships an a crazy nonsense number for the other one. I assume this is not a big issue as now there is no tonnage bar to fill and in my log the 2 ships tonnage is registered ok. ( I followed mama solutions but this happened)

2- I need to confirm this one, but magnetic detonator is not working still for me. I set up my fish 1.5 m under the keel and it just didnt detonate. I checked and the shoot was very much precise. :( I´ll keep trying

Don't know about issue #1, but for #2 having mag torpedoes not detonate is a common occurrence and 'feature'. Mag detonators were unreliable until '42-'43 I believe. I can't remember the exact date. That's built into the sim.

It seems issue nº1 doesn´t have any impact in the campaing progress (i like a lot this new conception without the progress bar) so if it´s so i don´t mind at all. After the two task force ships and two more mercants i got the baltic "finished"

And about nº2 ... yeap you are probably right. Must be that. After that i´ve a deficient impact torpedo and the guy say -torpedo is a dud sir! or something like this... but with the magnetic one he just said -torpedo miss sir!

Anyway i´m having a great time!!! When i tried the game i was seriusly thinking about uninstall and come back to sh3, but now after de wosmm and the pach... oh fuking this is it!!! I still have sinking date issues in my captain´s log. Usually is 0000-00-00, sometimes a crazy futuristic number.

I´ve started a new campaign 4 times, deleting old save files before and with a new captain name. Same result.

I ´ve installed wosmegamod and pached as required.
I ´ve checked that the pachs than need to be disable in orther to run background services (control panel mama´s 2º solution) are so.
I also set priority to real time in osi.exe everytime i start the game.
I don´t go over with my tcs and i save every time sober recommend to do so. (example, in bunker, save and load game and so on every 72 hous aprox.)

Everytime i started a new campaign i get the baltic operation finished after a few thousands tons. I suppouse this means that this f... date corruption problem is not affecting my career data. But i also read in a THEBERBSTER (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=303079) thread that if you suffer this issue you must restart campaign. So must be something important.

I´m very lost!! i played four times baltic operations to solve this and nothing. Was not so much problem becouse it works like kind of tutorial for me to get familiar with real navigation. But i really don´t want to play this mission for ever!!! :/\\!!

Please if anybody can point me in the right direction would be veeeery much appreciated

Correct...Other than messed up date code there will be no other side effect:yep:(correct date and location of the kill is still visible despite the date corruption). If you are really annoyed by it , you can edit the date manually in CaptainsLog.ini file in your last gamesave...
