OK so here is how it is

In the past I have played SH3 with GWX, aso SH4 with TMO, RFB and also OM.
Bought SH5 when it was released, and was very disappointed
For sure it looked nice. But something seemed to be missing.
For sure it looked pretty - but it played like a dog.

Shelved it for several years and played other stuff
Figured to myself that the base game was so FUBARED that it would take Modders years to fix it, if they even could at all:)

Well - 5 years later and here I am

Had just read a book about the Battle of the Atlantic, so thought - what the hell
Let's re-install SH5 and see what the modders at Subsim have achieved

Man alive - I am absolutely blown away :yeah:

Lookks like you guys fixed it :yep:

Have just got TWOS working with my SH5 install - blown me away:salute:

Many many thanks to everyone involved in puting this together:yeah:

Even more thanks is necessary when I look at the credit list

vdr1981 put all this stuff together for us, but the credit list is enormous.

Massive thanks to everyone involved in this

Sadly - I honestly believe this will be the last WW2 Subsim created - so we rely on modders to make whjat we have the best

Sadly - I honestly believe this will be the last WW2 Subsim created - so we rely on modders to make whjat we have the bestThats the situation, so we are all lucky to have all these fantastic modders here!:D

A dream: UBISOFT create together with all these experienced modders (they will be payed for their work/knowledge) Silent Hunter 6 (The Battle of Atlantic II) with a new modern graphic system and also a playable land world (the port).

Edit: ..and a german version from the game. :D:03::03: @ Vecko

Let me chime in with max-peck - totally the same experience here... played SH3 to pieces, bought SH5 and figured it was such a botched job that I didn't touch it for more than 15 minutes or so. But... I was reading this book about the Kriegsmarine last month, decided to try SH5 once more... headed over to Subsim and found that you guys have taken the game to the next level! How very cool. :subsim:

I just got this game only a few days ago.. Thanks to the modders we have a great game here!

I also would like to thank the subsim forums, so much info and great members always willing to contribute and help newbies out..

Far as no sims for awile, yes sad but true but what is old now will be new again... There is a open market for it right now and I have faith a developer will come along and fill this niche again.

We can only hope they will use these older sims as a inspiration point.

Back when SH5 first hit the market it was a piece of crap. I like others wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot poll. But in the first couple of years mods made such an improvement that reading how well it now played finally convinced many to buy it and jump right in with both feet to play it. And so more have jumped in with new and improved mods making SH5 even better than 2 years ago.

It's the enthusiasm of guys like you that keep SH5 going... and keeps the modders hard at work improving SH5.. and SH3 and 4 too. Enjoy! :salute:
