Ok, so I started a new test career using GWX3 + MaGui (testing the optics) and set out for a 5 day patrol on August 1st 1939. Map updates enabled for verifying distances.
A mysterious man with no name who must have been Abwehr approached me and wanted me to do measurements of British and French destroyers (ok, so I made up the bit about Abwehr but I thought I could use the peaceful month for some friendly visits and perhaps a few measurements of various ships while they were still friendlies, things like bridge height and chimneys and just generally getting good close up views of the various classes of ASW ships + goodies).
Went full speed to Dover, Southend, Harwich and Dunkirk and spotted 2 destroyers and a Southhampton at the piers. Started to do measurements through the scope using the MaGui scope wheel (I'm beginning to really like that one).
Went down to periscope depth and started measuring using MaGui's wheel on both scopes. Also testing the wheel on the A scope on x6 (works, just needs halfing before the result is good). At first it was fine. I verified I got the calculated distance comfortably close to the actual distance time and time again. I frequently hit scope reset to get a decent water level view. Then the madhouse opened its doors.
Last half hour, every time I hit the reset, the scope kind of resets, it goes to 0* bearing and straighten itself but when I turn the scope towars the target, the scope view and the measurements are way off and worse every time I hit reset, resulting in false exaggerated distances (750m instead of the actual 450m for instance).
Any known ussue here? Sea is calm, steadycam on the scope, it sort of reminds me of the old bug with the offset gunsight but it's not really identical.
