Even my former employers were pro-players in using tax oasis.
I'd bet my current one is also on the list.

The more tax you can pay without it affecting your life, the less likely you will :/\\!!

I hope the rest of you guys got out in time ... I just heard about it last friday, but I thought it was just another April Fool's joke. :yep:

Packing now for Panama ... hope they still have wi-fi at the airport.

Are you okay where you are at ikalugin?

don't let them torture you okay ... take the pill :o

I'm outta of here :woot:

Among the dozen current and former world leaders named in the documents as controlling offshore companies were the prime ministers of Iceland and Pakistan, the king of Saudi Arabia, and the children of the president of Azerbaijan, according to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalism, a non profit (are you sure it's a non-profit source)

Nobody ever got tortured for tax evasion.
Those who do it are too far up the ladder to be touched and those who don't aren't.

I can see it now, how they're all laughing at us: look at the plebs, expressing outrage and thinking we will be hurt by it

Hmmm:hmmm: highly suspicious...

I read that in the several documents, they found information about a gold robbery in the UK, in 1983. Lot of the gold was melted and not recovered. I see Steed was one of the masterminds...:timeout::03:

In Denmark there are about 300 Danish people on this Panama list, most known the ordinary person is two Former football players Who have played on the Danish national football team

In Sweden there are about 400-500 Person on this List. Here its mostly business men and other rich people. I have not yet heard or read about some famous Swedish person on this list.

As so far they haven't found any Danish or Swedish politician on this list.

Eyup, I've noticed a lot of that lately, I think that things have changed at the Beeb since the 2011 riots, I recall that the Beeb came under fire after that for 'encouraging' the riots with its 24 hour news coverage of them. Since then and the Tories constant attempts to 'restructure' the Beeb, they've gone very quiet whenever large protests spring up.
Unless, of course, they turn violent and then they're all over it because then the protestors are hooligans and thugs. I remember my Dad telling me of the time he was on a protest (https://socialistworker.co.uk/art/4358/We+want+the+same+as+the+tube+workers) on the behalf of the T&GWU outside the London Mayors office and the press were around and snapping away, and one of the photographers was mingling in with them and said to him "Look, up there, you see that window, that's Ken's office, you could get a stone or a brick up there, go on." Naturally, my Dad told him where to go, but you can see how those who are paid to get dramatic shots for the front pages can often get involved in making those scenes themselves.

What a mess. :nope:

I have been thinking about some solution to this/these problem(s)

I could be wrong about my idea

First of all, how many millions or billions do the authorities in different countries expect to "get back" from their citizens who have hide them in different companies ?

My idea is a two part solution

1. This is a world wide law-Each transaction from about 10 dollars or other currency has to be registered, if the transaction is domestic or from one country to another countries bank or company.

2. This is the hardest part-Even this has to be a world wide operation-From any given day, which has to be very very secret-Each countries currency has to be invalid.
E.g Let say that you hear on the news on Sunday evening that from tomorrow, Monday your money is invalid(don't know the exact words) and you have to go down to your local bank and change them to the new kind of currency/money.
If you have earn your money legally or saved them legally it should be no problems changing them to the new currency, while those who have hidden their money-will have problems explaining where they got their money from

Of course this will maybe solve the problems for a short while, until these people finds another way to hide their money

It doesn't really have to be world wide, it has to be up to each country to decide if they are interested in changing currency/money

Its just an idea

I can also tell you that Denmark did this in the beginning of the 50s. Remember my father told me about this- from one day to the other the Danish state change currency/money type.

Looks like the press is now bored and moved on here in the UK.

That's what it looks like, but according to this article the press was in on keeping it quite for over a year: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/04/20/obama-ii-saudi-arabia-what-do-these-oil-sheikhs-have-to-hide.html

While the Arab press has been accused of cherry-picking only those named in the papers who are the enemies of their respective host countries, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) managed this

unprecedented cache of data by coordinating among 400 reporters worldwide, who in turn kept the Panama Papers secret for over a year. That is some feat.

Edward Snowden described it as the “biggest leak in the history of data journalism”. Gerard Ryle, director of the ICIJ, called it “probably the biggest blow the offshore world has ever taken.”
