Great Escape 50 POW's from Stalag Luft III

Today marks the anniversary of the murder by the SS of 50 POW's who were part of the Great Escape. Most of their graves are unmarked. There still stands a memorial at the former Stalag Luft III, built with the camp Commandants permission by the remaining prisoners.

I never made the connection as I rarely get to watch a movie all the way through or miss parts.

I looked at some of the content of the thread you refer to and especially the Lego clip and decided the memories of those brave men were better kept here.
