BBC2 is the best FPS I ever played, but I can play it Single Player offline only; can I add the Vietnam expansion and carry on the same way, or is this for online gaming only? I need to know... please!

I posted this appeal in the 'General Games' thread, but that place is just like a damp broom cupboard: nobody ever goes there except the wizened janitor, with his mop and bucket.

PS: and his grumble-mags...

*sigh*
I saw that before but I wasn't sure so I thought I'd rather say nothing.
AFAIK, it has no SP part, at least I only played it online.

Now leave me alone, I gotta clean the floor and dust off the boards.

Actually BFBC2 does have singleplayer, you can play it offline, but Vietnam is all multiplayer. I downloaded BFBC2 couple weeks but the servers for Vietnam are pretty much empty now days, but depending where you live you have might have luck playing a populated server with a decent connection. There's usually 1 or more populated servers for vanilla BFBC2 again depending where you live.

BFBC2 isn't as popular as it was before, it really was a great and fun game to play. This was the last best game in the BF series before BF3 quite clearly became a cashcow and was rather disappointing from a BF2 Veteran perspective.

Thanks buddy, that answers my question. I've played BBC2 through a couple of times and it would've been great to get the Vietnam game (two of my favourites are Vietcong and Men Of Honor).

Vietnam was an absolute blast! It's shame it's almost dead. It's one of those MP game you were supposed to have to played when it came out.

Speaking of Vietnam games, there's a new one coming out soon this year and I'm definitely getting it!

Eichhörnchen, you might be interested in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo8cYRTriBA :03: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo8cYRTriBA)

If the quality will be like Rising Storm, the pacific war DLC for RO2, this will be a blast.
It is no DLC though, it will be standalone.

Edit: Looks like dat Nub up there sniped me hard! :shifty:

She's a nice piece of artwork.

Of course I should have said Men Of Valor earlier, not Men Of Honor.

On Single Player again, I really rate the "Conflict" series pretty highly, but even though I have it along with all the others, I haven't yet dipped into Conflict: Vietnam; the rendering of the jungle environment makes or breaks these Vietnam games for me, so I hope this lives up to the rest of the series (I'm currently enjoying Conflict: Global Storm).

On the subject of good jungle environments, other games I've liked were Boiling Point, MoH Pacific Assault, Hidden & Dangerous 2 and of course Crysis...

You should check out Rising Storm for Red Orchestra 2 if you haven't. Tripwire and the modding community did a stellar job of making jungle maps. It's hard enough as it is to spot players hidden along with the foliage.

Wish I had more screens of Rising storm (http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/449582392510816232/FDCB1FC158BAAAB6057C453DB1C299BE3D14BC02/) to show off the jungle maps

Thanks for the info, that helps.

I'm considering merging the Classic Subsims with the General Games Discussion, since each could use more traffic. That would help, perhaps....:hmmm:

I dunno if that would do much. GGD is reasonably active, with a post history of 64K. It's not GT, but then what is :D.

As for this thread, I think no one answered as most of us either never played that game or can't remember/aren't sure about it anymore; the game is 6 years old now. The other issue with merging Classic Subsims is it's threads would get buried in GGD, and it would be less useful as an archive for finding solutions to run those old games, which I think is one of the main points of that forum.

Anyhow, my 2 cents as the custodian of that "damp broom cupboard" that "nobody ever goes there except the wizened janitor, with his mop and bucket. and his grumble-mags.." :haha:

Ok, sounds good, I will see if I can do a little more to promote the GGD forum with occasional banners. I really like having a forum where games other than subsims can be discussed and questions answered. :salute:
