SH3 update to v1.4

I've tried to update SH3 to v1.4b but it will not let me. Says something about de_menu.txt etc.

I've tried all download versions of 1.4b with no luck.

Any ideas why?

Do I need to update for the S3F mod?

If you are running the Steam SH3 or have a newer version other than the original, you don't need 1.4. It's included with the newer DVD installs.

If that is true, then how would I know?

Is there a version num. somewhere?

I just downloaded this from a site, www.newgamesbox.com (http://www.newgamesbox.com)

Look in the lower right corner of the main screen, it should have 1.4b there if it is already patched.

Update: I reloaded it and ran it, no ver. number shows.

Thanks Hans, I ran a SH3 version checker and got this;
