Very sorry to hear of George Gaynes passing. Like Leslie Nielson who passed away in 2010, George was multi faceted in the roles they portrayed but their real talent may well have been dry humor.
Rest in Peace.

RIP Sir
One of the truly accomplished character actors in show business. Just take a look at the IMDB listing of his work:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0310960/
There are young actors who would kill to have been associated with a great many of the projects in which Gaynes appeared. He's got a lot of credits, but he got them the old fashioned way: he earned them. The resume runs from sitcoms like Punky Brewster to classic serious drama like The Crucible to the memorable soap opera actor in the film Tootsie. Great character actors are like an essential seasoning in a great recipe: they may not have much presence by volume, but they add an undeniable flavor to the final dish. I have always had a great deal of respect for character actors and what they bring to the craft. There are fewer and fewer of the great ones left and now there is one less...
RIP, Mr. Gaynes...

RIP. :salute:
He had a good run.
Strangely enough, I and several of my work colleagues were discussing the Police Academy films a few weeks ago. One was gobsmacked to discover Gaynes was still alive, he'd thought he'd shuffled off years ago!
