Found on this miniseries on Netflix the other day. Was a enjoyable watch. It tells the story (drama style, ala Band of Brothers) of how the Germans, during WWII, were trying to acquire heavy water to help their nuclear research. The factory that produces the water is in Norway, and it shows how the Norwegian resistance helped fight the Germans, either locally or as covertly inserted special operations soldiers trained by the Allies. It also covers Heisenberg and many of the other physicists in the project.

Unless you are very multilingual, you'll need subtitles on, it covers at least 4 different languages. As opposed to the biggest gripe with most war/foreign films, the characters are actually speaking the language they are supposed to. So unless you know English, German, Norwegian (which is the 'base' language for the series), and a couple others, you'll definitely need subtitles. Sad to say though, my stream would frequently drop some text, so I'd have to rewind a bit to see what they said.

Definitely worth watching.

That looks really interesting.

There was, I remember, a terrific dramatized TV documentary about this subject some years back which would be really worth getting on DVD, although I've never come across it, and one of my favourite movies is The Heroes of Telemark.

I hope this appears on DVD and thanks for the heads-up

This looks like it will be well worth watching.

Thanks for posting it.

Possibly where the idea for the Kirk Douglas film The Heroes of Telemark came from.

Oh oh oh... there is a bond-esque Telemark Skiiing chase too!

It was shown in the UK last year by Channel 4 on their More4 channel under the name "The Saboteur's".

Rather good, I thought, enough for me to buy it on DVD when it came out.
