Hi everybody, I write my PhD-paper (history of WWI - Carpathian front 1914/1915), but in off-time I dive with 688(i) Los Angeles class away from evil reality... The 250 pp. manual of this old game is totally great!!! Thx for it!!!
Right now cross my mind, that monarchy of Austria-Hungary also had some sub and a great (little) fleet, for example armored cruiser: Viribus Unitis in Adriatic sea...
Hm, I think, that I have now a new object of my historical interest; The fleet of Austria-Hungary!!!
Austria-Hungary was a great empire in middle Europe, world-power till 1918, whereby Austria was created of today from north to south: Czech, Austria and Slovenia; and Hungary (romantically as Carpathia) was created of today from north to south: Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. Of course of Galicia (today of south Poland) and Transylvania (today of east Romania). Great empire, but so many languages - crash was necessary. Nationalism is too bad for many-languages empires...
And of course, this pretty land also had its own fleet!
But today (2015) is everything away; empire has had to crash; the new mini-republics after a year 1918 are pablum... "sanitaire cordon" for rest of Europe; first friend of Britons and French against red-Russia and revitalising Germany till 1938; then friends of Hitler's Germany against red-Russia and Britons, French and USA till 1945; then friends of red-Russia against USA, Britons and French in "cold-war" till 1989; and now since 2004 friends of USA and rest of Europe against Putin's Russia... ah well, history always repeat, but ever of a bit otherwise...
Something miss in Europe, something great, smart and graceful, something elegant and powered... also fleet powered...
Austria-Hungary miss in Europe! Mythic Carpathia miss in Europe!
It is necessary revitalization of this great land!
Österreich-Ungarn muss leben!
Karpátia nem volt, hanem lesz!
Budme vsetci jednotni!
Viribus unitis!
..and then we can talk about a fleet..
