It's a conspiracy by the far right to deprive the left of it's musical heroes..... Don't drink the Kool-aid man....

Every year somebody comments on the number of famous people who died that year. I always reply that it's not extraordinary, that a lot of famous people die every year. I used to receive an encyclopedia yearbook every year, and the number of people whose names I knew was staggering. Every year.
I'm not writing this to dismiss the thread, or to argue. I'm writing to say that this year does indeed seem to be getting off to a bad start, considering it's only nineteen days old.
I also keep noticing how close to my own age a lot of these people are. :-?

The time to break into a real sweat will be when they start getting younger than you.

I already did that eight years ago, when for the first time we elected a president who was younger than me - by more than a decade!

Did U mean "younger than I" :smug: :O: Seriously though, at the traditional wake for my mom a year ago this FEB I kept noticing how nice everyone was...to me... till I realized...I'm now the old guy of the clan!:dead: :doh: :wah: In looking at all the old family photos going back to the early 1900's, I'm the only one who knows who everyone is ( ok:was :o) All the kids: grand nephews and nieces etc, are using ME as a historical reference!:k_confused:

One thing about getting older is that your memory is getting longer while your life is getting shorter. :hmm2:

Can you remind me what "memory" is, please? :-?

No, I was referring to ME, as in "younger than the State of Maine".
Yes, even a dedicated Grammar Nazi can make mistakes, especially when writing in haste. On the other hand I found one expert who says it's not that clear.

WELL I read that link and U AND ME:O: will not submit to the tyranny of the illiterate masses! My precedent is Clear: To a question before his cabinet, Lincoln voted "aye" and his six cabinet members voted "nay." The President then pronounced the result: "Nays, six. Ayes, one. The ayes have it."
Now there was a President.:03:
(obviously the moderator-in chief of his cabinet-family; and a noted Grammer Tyrant in his own write)

LOL. I'm sure it's not that bad.

Being a tad behind you age-wise, I very much sympathize. That's why, given my predilection to not conforming to expected norms, I hereby refuse to die. The only way I'll die is over my dead body...
...um, er, wait a minute... apparently I haven't really thought this out well... :hmmm:
<O>
You should only really worry if you've done as much drugs as these guys have done.
