Issues with Downloading Mods

Whenever I try to download a mod from this site, the download is successful, but instead of having a .zip folder, there is only one of those blank piece of paper icons that says it doesn't know what program to run it with. Does anyone else have this same problem or know how to fix it?

most mods are compressed using 7zip and you need t open them with 7zip.

if you open 7zip files with WinRAR or winzip they are often corrupted after being uncompressed.
