Trying to get Operation monsoon working.

Hi all. Ive done this before and for some reason I am unable to get this thing to work. I just installed the Steam version of SH4 (is this the problem?). Ive tried enabling the mod through JSGME (located in SH4 steam folder). It looks like it installs the mod and all but when I run SH Wolves of the pacific it looks like an unmodded version set in the pacific theatre. Ive installed GWX and other mods in the past (SH3) successfully.

The file I downloaded is OpsMonsun_V705.

I have NO other mods installed

Just to clarify what I did:

Just did a complete unsinstall SH4 (steam) ,deleted folder and reinstalled SH4 (Steam). Got the JSGME (correct) from here and installed it in the SH4 folder (...steamapps/common/SH4folder).


Followed instructions provided for monsun mod and installed in this order:
Installed 705 (copied to mods folder located in SH4folder)
Installed 705-720
Installed patch
JSGME gave no error messages when installing.
It still doesnt work. Game loads up without any uboat campaign option and looks like original SH4. When I try to run any mission the game crashes after loading (never actually runs).

I also tried to overwrite the DATA folder with the mod data folders earlier and that had the same results.

Is this one of those things where I have to finish submarine school first before installing the mod? (I remember there were mods like that which wouldnt work unless you did this)?

Can you guys spot if I am doing something wrong or is it time to go periscope depth and sail back to sh3 lol!

You need Silent Hunter version 1.5. Did you get that from Steam?

Yes i got it from steam. Rolling it back will work?

Ugh its version 1.3 on steam so no rollback option. (Im gonna see if i can patch it)

Apparently steam has a different game called "Silent Hunter: Wolves of the pacific U-boat missions" which I just purchased now. I dont know who to blame but Im pretty sure its Ubisoft behind the shenanigans (again). From what I understand this is version 1.5.

At the time the UBM was released it was considered an expansion disk. It adds the U-Boat missions in the Indian Ocean and brings SH4 to v 1.5. Normally you would install the UBM over your current version of SH4, but with the steam version I'm not quite sure about that. Hopefully, someone else will be along to give you a more definite answer. :D

I got it working with the 1.5 version of the game (u-boat missions). I dont think the other thing I purchased was even required. What a waste of $9.99!
