Curious to see if he can weasel his way out or finally be brought to justice.

Best if he is extradited to the US pronto and put into a 'supermax' facility.

We don't want him Jim, send him to the UK and lock him up with Assange, they won't be going anywhere for a while. They can drive each other crazy, lol
Mexico probably won't send him to the US; oddly, given that Mexico has probably the most corrupt justice system in the Western Hemisphere, the Mexican authorities would see sending him to US would "besmirching" of the fine and proud image and reputation of their country. It is rather like the hooker on the street corner taking umbrage at the suggestion she may be perhaps "promiscuous"...

Well I should Mexico will be worried of further embarrassing escapes should they hold on to him :)
Mexico wants to send him here, but Chapo's lawyers will fight for years to keep him in Mexico.

Actually the United States wants him extradited not Mexico. The US began the process before his second escape. All though the Mexican government is willingly proceeding with the process. El Chapos lawyers will certainly try to extend things.

The quicker he's in US custody the better.
I was a bit surprised when the Mexican government acquiesced to the US request for extradition. I guess Mexico would rather not face the extremely embarrassing prospect of him escaping again. I do think, though, the Mexican authorities will try to extract some sort of tit for tat for the extradition. It is not far fetched Mexico will try to use the US eagerness to take El Chapo to trial as leverage for some sort of "bribe"...

Quite likely :yep:
In the end, even locking him up in a Super Max for life will change nothing. The cartels will get a new leader and it will be business as usual. Which is pretty sad.:nope:

Agreed but the bugga currently on the button of control will at least pay a price which is all that is reasonably achievable atm.
I agree completely Jim, he deserves a life long visit to a Super Max, he's killed people too. Lock him up and throw away the key as far as I'm concerned. But as far as slowing down the flow of drugs, won't help at all. I wish it was different though, wish it would slow it down.

The reason there are drug dealers is because there is a demand for their product. You can target the supplier all day but the kinds of money one can make in the drug trade will always mean that there will be many dealers.
I don't think it is a problem that will ever be resolved fully.

Oh I agree, as long as there is a big demand, they will go on supplying it.

Good point. If there are going to be any bribes, we don't want them squandered in a Mexican Jail, then there are deserving US prisons that need the money. :03:

So, actor and activist Sean Penn finds and interviews El Chapo, for Rolling Stone, of course. Naturally, a firestorm of controversy erupts. Penn was on 60 Minutes: http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/sean-penn-el-chapo-meeting-failed-charlie-rose-1201680777/
