Hey guys,

I've always been a Flight sim guy, with the head up in the skies, but lately I wanted to get my feet wet and looked for some good navy sims (couldn't find any unfortunately), but then I thought I might give a go to submarines. To me they've always been an obscure branch of warfare, which I've never given the rightful attention to, so I'm up for the challenge.

But I must say, I'm overwhelmed, I downloaded the game from Steam, and read the beginner stickies on this forums, still I didn't understand how to install mods. I won't ask which super mod is better, but let's say I want to give GWX a whirl.

What am I supposed to do? As in, do I have to download something else other than the supermod itself?

I apologise if I make stupid questions, but hey, atleast I'm trying!

Happy New Year to everyone (I know it's late, but happy things are always nice)

Basically I just need to download those parts and follow instruction from the manual?

Do I need any other mod prior or after GWX, such as S3C or S3F?

Welcome to SubSim WildBlueYonder. :salute:

SH3 Commander is not a mod but a tool you can use to enhance your game. Not necessary but very useful.

Welcome to Subsim.:salute:

As suggested, the forums can help you with the mods. Look for JSGME which basically stands for Jonesoft generic mod enabler . Be aware this is for Mods. To install GWX supermods and the like, they have to be directly installed in the game folder itself. With Win 7 and above, don't install into the default path and look for the patch to play the game without the DVD installed. Hope this helps.

GWX works like a charm, I'll keep the game like that until I feel ready to add S3C.

One question though, even if I press Ctrl the movement of the mouse/stadimeter is way too fast and drives me crazy not being able to get the bar on the waterline. Any idea on how to fix it?

I think that's an issue inherent in the program itself as others have complained about that as well. I have seen that too.
