It seems that these messages are not added to the en_menu.txt file
There is a whole bunch of messages that need to be added, not only these two.
Look H.sie-Patch install instruction again.

Thats the thing, the en_menu has been appended. Everything else about the patch works, just not the menu commands.

I installed the supplement as it has more features that add to the origonal patch. I have tried run ning the game without any mods present aside the h.sie patch but still the problem persists. I'm out of ideas, i also tried reintalling the patch but same problem.

I answered on this thread Blitzkrieg 'cause the thread is about H.sie problems...not specifically S3F problems! But I'm sorry you had to intervene and be troubled. Maybe I shouldn't have "THANKED YOU" for providing S3F 'cause all your reply to my well-written and carefully thought-out post has done is to call me A BOY! I am a 45-year-old ex Serviceman. How dare you call me a boy - just because I didn't post on your S3F thread! I don't need to waste more time to see if a particular BETTER thread already exists among the hundreds before I add my post TO A VERY SPECIFIC THREAD ON H.SIE PROBLEMS!

Don't reply to me again and instead let someone else who is HELPFUL! Someone who can help me with H.sie problems, not S3F ones!

But, for your information as you've unhelpingly interfered, S3F doesn't even download with an attached README file! All GOOD downloads come with that file if it's not straight forward and there's any user-interfacing to be done - don't call me a boy again! I looked for it for info on installing and using your software! A DIZ file but no info what it is or what it's for! I run S3F and it says I don't have JSGME - which is in the SH3 folder! I update JSGME to the last version available and STILL your software tells me it's not there! It's not even to do with JSGME website not being available any more: S3F just has to LOOK in the root folder, and there it is...the same location as the other add-ons it found okay! I've had to "hold its hand" and link the line in the settings file to my JSGME exe...in the SH3 folder! Perhaps it was created by a boy??

I WAS going to come to these other issues in time ON AN S3F THREAD, but with your high 'n' mighty "oh boys" response, I shan't bother YOU any more Blitzkrieg! Don't even reply to this 'cause you're too busy to answer - yet fully and instantly available to call me a boy and wrongly tell me I wrote on the wrong thread - it was an H.sie problem thread!!! Maybe I should have CARELESSLY started my own H.sie Problem thread - and THEN be blamed by someone like you (not even admin) for not using the site with respect. At least I made the time and took the time to ask a question on here in the hope of getting some help. People who respond as you have are the reason why some people don't even bother asking for help in a forum...or why they may leave after such 'Customer Service'. If you were a skimmer...I'd have blasted you to the depths by now! Blitzkrieg huh? Lightning war...yeah, your username is very apt!

It takes very little effort to be courteous and respectful.

jreid666...the "Supplement" is the JSGME Mod installation package; there isn't an "original patch" and a "Supplement"...they're one and the same.

Being an old "dinosaur" (and an ex-submariner) myself, I had my own troubles putting the Mod into the game at first. The solution was easy...print out the excellent instruction manual that h.sie provided and follow it carefully. It works well that way...I don't need or use S3F.

The manual from h.sie also contains detailed descriptions of the fixes that are applied and a wealth of info for tweaking the game after the Mod is installed...an example of really good documentation...rare these days.

I hope this helps.:salute:

All I can see is a thread started by jreid666 and hijacked by another person, johnnyace. Which problem is being worked on remains open.

Btw: S3F has worked fine for me. But to each his own.

This thread is about H.sie problems, not S3F. I am trying to help regarding the correct installation of such, which I have now achieved myself, and mentioned that I had tried via S3F. What does your entry tell anybody? That my desire to help is a hijacking? Really?

What help have you just provided?

"Which problem is being worked on remains open." What does that statement mean? It's neither a question nor a grammatically-correct sentence. And then you tell us that S3F has worked fine for you? Congratulations, but your success story without assistance belongs on the S3F thread!

Now back to the purpose of this thread...problems with H.sie. Can you help or just throw in a hand grenade at someone?

What does my entry from #10 tell anyone?

It takes very little effort to be courteous and respectful.

Cool heads everyone.

Thats the thing, the en_menu has been appended. Everything else about the patch works, just not the menu commands.

Do you have any SH3 Commander mods enabled which fully replace the en_menu file? If so, SH3 Commander applies its files after the regular JSGME files which can overwrite the manual changes that have been made. I had a lot of problems with that one until I worked out how to replace individual lines using Commander.

Check your SH3 Commander mods - they might be what's causing the problem.

Wreford-Brown you Sir are a genius. Commander was overwriting the en_menu. It was the H_sie commander patch that did it, actually something i didn't need to install. Thank you guys that have tried to help me on this thread, much appreciated.

Happy to help

Now cut the en_menu changes into hsie's commander patch or create your own commander mod to insert the lines :salute:

Hello all,

This is just the issue I've hit upon. I figured it was something along these lines. When I run a single mission to test whether the V1.6 patch etc has been applied the additional messages show up. But when I load my career through SH3 Commander, I get the blank messages.

I'd be very grateful if somebody could give me a step by step? I must have managed this before because this was the setup I always used to run but its got me flummoxed this time! I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say H.sie's Commander patch? I didn't see that in the V16B1 install process.

I'm running:

SH3 1.4b
GWX3.0
Intel gfx reflection fix (still playing with an intel graphics chip!)
V16B1 Patch / Supplement to V16B1
O2 gauges V2

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated. :salute:
