As a follow up to my other post, is there any way to transfer the sonar files from SH3 to SH4 so you can ask the sonar man to track the nearest warship?
Thanks!

Bonjour,

Very bad idea.
If you want to be helped, you have to describe your configuration set.

Intuitively, I think you have one or more installed mods. This problem looks like a poorly unzipped mod.

Thanks for the reply!

Its been a while since I did the install but the only mods I have used are some sound mods, plus I added the 360 deg. protractor around the boat and remapped a few keys. The sonar man was much more useful in SH3 than in SH4.

I'm running the TMO mod and I've got the option to follow the nearest contact. Only thing I can think of is that Gibus suggested. Hope you get it sorted...

When I try to follow the nearest contact the sonarman never follows a warship, only the merchants, even though I know an escort is nearby ( I have tested this by using the free cam in a test mission). Would like to get it fixed without having to personally operate the hydrophones.

Hi,

Are there not the following commands for the sonar man:

1. Report nearest merchant
2. Follow the nearest merchant
3. Report nearest man-of-war
4. follow nearest man-of-war (ok, maybe warship)

No, I do not have those commands. I have follow nearest contact, send data to TDC, report contacts and something else but nothing about reporting or following warships and if I order the sonarman to follow the nearest contact he almost never follows a warship. Joe S

What gibus said. If you want meaningful help, you must tell us what your mod setup is.

The only mods I have are sound mods and a re-programmed a few keys. That's it. Also have the 360Deg bearing tool installed. Joe S

I don't recall stock, but most supermods have follow nearest warship tab and nearest contact... It is helpful with cams and contacts off to use it when setting up so if sonar says contact has sped up and closing, you know you may have been found out.
