In around 2007/8, there was a site created where on single player 'career' mode you would register your boat, then go back every so often and update how your cruises were going and a report at the end.
It was not linked to SH3 directly but was set out with amazing graphic images, an HQ where you reported, links to U-Boat research site (like U-Boat.com etc).
Can anybody remember this? There was not many members when I joined up, but I was wondering what happened to it - or, are there any other community based sites like the one described

I can't do the multi-player thing, as the internet around here is (at best) crap.
We pay a fortune per month and get limited download at hit & miss speeds.

According to the telco, we have the latest in up-to-date hi-speed internet, but whenever it rains it stops. When it's too hot it stops. If somebody in the neighbourhood is watching Netfix, it stops.

In a perfect world, I'd be there already. Trouble is it's an overpriced world of very poor quality.

I thank you for your invitation, and normally I would be there racking up tankers and DD's

It sounds something like Wolves at War. BdU issues orders for a patrol and the group has 2-3 weeks to complete the patrol offline. You setup a communication thread for your U-boat to communicate with HQ, and then file a KTB when you have finished your patrol. Does this sound like the group you joined?
