My wife just allowed me to up grade to a "new" computer after a power outage wiped out my 10 year old previous model.

HP - Pavilion Desktop - AMD A8-Series

Specs:

2.0ghz AMD processor
Windows 10
8 gb ram
1 tb hard drive (SATA)
AMD Radeon R5

Here is the problem:

I have an original disk of SH3 from 2005. I love modding it to GWX 3.0 Gold.

From what I have read, it includes "Starforce" because I could never play it w/o the disk being in.

And from what I have read here, this original 2005 disk is not compatable with my system.

Correct? Or Incorrect?

You can try this option:

But the easier way would be to just buy the StarForce-free version:

I don't know the general opinion on the Steam version, but I using it and it works just fine.

Sandman, I'd add another 8GB of memory as soon as you are able too. You will need all you can with SH3 and mods so it runs smoothly. You might have problems with the 2.0ghz processor. I would have gone with a minimum of 3.0ghz. A tad higher even. Tiger Direct has been having some good deals on AMD processors.

My next build will be an AMD that's a minimum of 3.5ghz and 6 cores. I lot less expensive than an Intel of the same ghz.
