So its been quite a long time since I played and I lost my disc. So I bought another copy and decided to try it out just plain vanilla. It was awesome. Then I grabbed the latest Grey Wolves and....well It fills it out nicely but seams to be lacking in a few spots.
My diesels are practically silent, all ships and subs seam to be freshly painted ( they were rusty in vanilla) and the music has disapeared. That was quite nice in the background.
One last thing. Were did yall get that sweet UI in some of the newer screenshots Ive been seeing? Cant find it anywhere. Is it a part of LSH15? Tried to get that to work and it wont for me. No big deal.

There is a problem with the game that the only engine sound is keyed to the exterior. To have the engines realistically loud on the inside you have to have them way to loud on the outside, and to have them realistically quiet on the outside they have to be almost silent on the inside.
Here are a couple of mods that might give you what you want.

That can be fixed by one of the dozens of skins available. Look through the SH3 section in Subsim Downloads. You will find many good choices.

I'm not sure if GWX removes the background music, but I certainly removed mine, as while movies have background music real life does not. I'm not sure how to fix that except by the basic rule: Always keep a clean untouched copy of the stock game in a safe place, just in case you want to restore something removed by some mod or other.

That I can't help with, because I use a UI of my own making. I didn't create it but I've combined several mods to get the exact look I want. :sunny:

Thanks steve. Ill check those sound options out. Dunno why I didnt see em, Ive been cruising the forums for the past several days.
I saw the skins, but havent tried them yet.
Ive been wanting to "build my own" mod if you will. A little here, and a little there to get what Im looking for. Ill definitely be installing another copy to at least copy some files back over.
No worries on the UI, I know not everyone uses the same. This is the style one Im looking for. (sorry its such a big picture headed to work in a second, dont have time to figure out how to resize)https://i.ytimg.com/vi/bs6U-e3cH2U/maxresdefault.jpg

Not a problem on the picture size. Unfortunately I've never seen that particular style before. I'm sure someone who has will show up soon enough.

That is MaGUI. If you have a widescreen monitor you need one of the WS GUIs. MaGUI is one of them. There is a MaGUI for not WS monitors too.
If you can use 1920x1080 resolution I recommend you Ahnenerbe WS GUI.
Regards.
