With the hardware listed, definitely. You haven't mentioned which OS you'll be using.

Just install the game directly to your c:\ drive and not to the default location. Which version of SH4 will you be using?

I'll probably be using Windows 8, if you can recommend a version of Windows that is free, I'll be extremely happy. As for the version of SH4, the most recent one.

I'm afraid I don't know of a free version of Windows, unless your upgrading from Win 7 or 8.1 to Win 10. The upgrade is free, but that is all. :D

Ok, thanks a lot. I guess I'll go with Windows 7 or 8, not 10. If there is anything you can recommend to me to lower the price and increase the power, please, tell me. I want to get the ultimate cheap PC :D

As for the setup, is it okay, or do I need to replace the motherboard, graphics card or CPU?

Just out of curiosity, are you assembling this computer or is someone else?

As for your setup, just go with what you've got and see what happens. :D

I'll try to build it myself (never done this before) or I might ask a friend to. Might even ask GameStop or Saturn (live in Europe) to build it for me.
That last line you said wasn't very encouraging :D
I bet I can run SH4 at max, I don't doubt my system's power :)

Out of curiosity, how good do you think my PC will run ARMA 2 or 3? 60 fps?

How does this computer do with Silent Hunter 4 on max and ARMA 3 on max?

Not mine, it's someone else's build.

Since I have no familiarity with any of the ARMA series, I really can't advise you about how your new computer would play it.

There is an old adage about gaming computers, the better the parts the better the play. You might want to rethink your plan. :D

I do a lot of gameplay with the Arma 3 I can just about run it maxed out with the following :

Intel i5 3570k OC 4.30ghz ( 4 Cores )
Nvidea GTX660 2 GB VRAM now replaced by GTX960 still similar
16GB 1600mhz Memory you need min 8GB really

Runs 60fps can drop to 30 when there a a lot of scripts and AI loading/running
the view distances need to be mid level up to 8000 I don't think there is a setup which will allow full even with 2x Titan Cpu's

Hope that helps

I don't know how you can make this assumption. :hmm2:

Well I posted a link to the other persons so I was wondering if you could compare the two and decide which is better :D

Honestly, this thread is finished, my question was answered. If anyone has any questions, ask away, but my main question is done. I don't even know why we are still talking :D

I read that MS will not be permitting OEM installs of Win 7 (which I and over 50% of Windows users still like to use) after Oct 2016.

Maybe there will be a way around this after the deadline. Let's hope so.

Happy Hunting!

Sorry, Microsoft & Original equipment manufacturer.

"The main difference between OEM and Retail is that the OEM license does not allow moving the OS to a different computer, once it is installed.

After installation, an OEM copy is essentially indistinguishable from a retail copy."

"Q: I build my own computers--mainly so I'll know what's in them and dont have to fool with the manufacturers' alleged "tech support" while I'm in warranty. At some point in the future I'll probably want to build one with Windows 7--when I do, do I qualify to use the "OEM System Builders" version or do I have to buy a retail copy?"

"A: Yes, you can buy the "OEM System Builders" version of Windows 7. Many online stores sell it."
