I came across this interview with a SR-71 pilot. I have one of his books and seeing him talk about this phenomenal spy plane was pretty amazing. The only bad thing is the audio quality isn't the greatest plus it sounds like an school field trip was going on in the background.

Q: What color is the SR-71 Blackbird?

A: Blue.

The specific shade of dark blue was used to both increase the thermal increase the emission of internal heat and to help the aircraft be less visually observable at high altitudes. Black aircraft are actually more easily seen when flying.

So why was it not called the SR-71 Bluebird????:hmmm::hmmm:

There had to be a reason why they were not allowed to call it the Bluebird

SR-71 Bluebird?
Project Bluebook?

Boom! There's your conspiracy
