Hello.
I'm an old gamer. I used to tie a jean jacket around my waist, fill my pockets with quarters and head to the arcade. I've been gaming ever since.
A while back I was digging through some old stuff and came across my copy of Silent Hunter 1. I managed to load it on a computer and run it through DosBox. The good times all came flooding back!! I love that game and wondered why I quit playing it. I was enjoying playing it again but the problem was that through DosBox there was no sound. I went on the internet to see how to solve the problem. I searched for Silent Hunter as a starting point.
WHOA!!! There's versions 2,3,4, and 5 now!!!
I went online shopping and helped myself to a copy of Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition. I can already tell I've found a new passion. (I thought the graphics were good in Silent Hunter 1 when it first came out. I see they've made some slight improvements!!) Gameplay is great too.
I'm still getting my feet wet for now. But soon I'll be modding. I'm eyeing up Real Fleet Boat and Run Silent Run Deep. I'm big into realism when I sim. (My other passion is Flight Simulator.) Once I'm up and going I'm sure I'll be in here to share war stories. Meanwhile, I'll be here to listen to stories from other people.
I'm looking forward to meeting new people who share my interest in sub sims and I'm glad to be part of this community.
