OK, I know which skills and specializations have the most effect for the other crew compartments, but I don't have any information on the Crew Berthing compartment.

That is the compartment with the lowest overall efficiency (probably because they aren't 'doing' much) and it does seem to change a little, but I can't sort out which skills seem to have the most effect.

The rest of my crew is well organized, and efficiency is very high in all other areas of the boat, but this compartment is averaging 0.45. If I can bump their efficiency up, I'd feel better about things because (as I understand it) each compartment works on its own damage/flooding, in addition to the DC team.

To be honest, this compartment is filled with all of the leftovers and hand me downs from other departments, as I sorted everyone out. its all junior enlisted with relatively low skills. I could beach them all, and fill the compartment with my DC team, but I (habitually) carry a full DC team in their own assigned spaces - the only 'empty' crew slots I have are the deck gun and AA gun slots, which I fill as needed.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I'm running TMO/RSRD and SHv1.5, if it matters.

From what I know about crew berthing, it is just a safe compartment to put your gun crews in so they don't die if your guns get damaged during ASW.

There is no leader, and it was an insignificant mystery as to what would happen re: experience levels, when it was first thought of, because it was intended to be used for very short periods of time.

Ah...I thought it might be something like that. All of the other sections actually 'do stuff'. I'll beach the slackers next time I'm in port.

When Ducimus made TMO, he created the Crew Berthing compartment for whatever the user wanted. The program doesn't recognize the compartment for damage or work, just a place to put crew members. I use it to place my gun crew to keep them from getting injured when the guns are damaged in a depth charge attack. The deck watch crew is also subject to getting injured when outside items are damaged in a depth charge attack.
