Went to my local cenotaph as its only about 200 yards from where live, then watched the march by on the BBC.

I just remembered this photo of me and my little brother taken years and years ago: we'd just laid a wreath at the Tonbridge war memorial (I'm on the left).

Salute to the survivor: may you never suffer again.

Salute to the wounded: may you no more feel pain.

Salute to the fallen: may your sacrifice not be in vain.

Just watched "The Lost Battalion" with the boy and Boudreaux McBee, to remember Sgt. Stubby.

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. Lest we forget.

And in the U.S.A. it's Veteran's Day, renamed from Armistice Day in 1954.

I always forget. :dead:

"Today, as we all know, is a very special day for all Americans. But to those of us who are veterans ourselves, it has a very special and added meaning. Memories come back of families and old comrades--of distant days and places from the past. Some of those friends are still with us, sharing in the challenges of peace, just as they did their duty in wartime. Others we shall never see again. But they, especially, are here with us in spirit in the shadow of the Tomb of the Unknowns."

-President Gerald R. Ford (Remarks at Veterans Day Ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery. October 28, 1974)

Thanks, I made a post about it in another thread.

Yes, I saw it: a very clever piece of design.

Let us all hope another tragedy like this never happens again. Let us hope that the families of those who were victims of the terror attacks never feel any more pain or suffering. Let us hope that we never forget today.
I salute you, Paris. :salute:
