UPLAY won't Initialize

I have had SH 5 for about a year now. I haven't played it for a while. I had to load it on my newer pc. I keep getting an error with uplay and it won't initialize? It says that it is looking for updates and then tells me that is unable to load.

Can I disable uplay so I can play the game? Thanks in advance.

No, Uplay has to be active although it can be in offline mode.

If that does not work then check the number of files in the Logs folder
A large number of files in there from your previous installation may cause Uplay to take over 30 minutes before it updates and loads.

It may just need running your SH5.exe and the Game Launcher as administrator to fix your problem.
