Question about European postage rates

OK, let's say you are in the UK and or Europe. Is the cost of postage for a letter the same, as long as it is in the region? How about a postcard? What is the postage for a postcard from London to Dusseldorf? From Amsterdam to Athens? How does this work over there? I have a lot of postcards to send and they are all $1.20 each from Texas to Europe. It may be a lot cheaper if I mail a package to someone there and then they can drop them in the letter box.

I think it's unlikely you'd save much money that way - they would be classed as international mail, and priced accordingly. From what I can figure out, the cheapest you can send a letter/postcard from the UK to Germany for example is £1 - which is greater than the cost of sending it from the U.S.!

From Germany, any postcard being sent abroad costs 80 Euro cents, the same as a letter. However, the postcard may weigh more, than a letter.

0,80 Euro would be ~0,9060 Dollar

hmmm... ok. Dang, in the US a postcard is .35 cents. It appears in Europe it's more like 1 pound/Euro, so it will be about the same as sending it for $1.20 from Texas. Oh well, government wins again :haha:
