Here, I get your cold and you can get my...what ever I have! Deal?:D

I know that felling I hate colds, prefer to have the flu since that means 3 days in bed and you are good. After My first decent work, the flu was so good, since 3 days in bed mean to rest so good.!

Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.
Wooly bully, wooly bully.

Well after 8 years as live aboards we just sold our cold remedy a few weeks ago. Sad to see the ol' girl go. She kept me physically fit buffing her bottom and keeping her main trimmed.

start drinkin' rum, lots of rum. You'll feel better in no time. Barcardi Clear and 7Up was a personal favorite remedy.

The worst part about having a cold is that while you feel like crud, you really can't garner a lot of sympathy from other people... because it is "just a cold".

I don't know if I have another cold or just the same one coming back, But I am sick of being sick.:wah:

Reminds me of an old Beverly Hillbillies episode. Banker Drysdale has a nasty cold, and the doctors all tell him the same thing: Lots of rest, lots of liquids and in three or four days his cold would be gone. Jed keeps telling him to try Granny's sure-fire cure. "It never fails!"

Finally Drysdale agrees to try the stuff. It smells and tastes so nasty he nearly chokes. Then he asks if it really works. Granny replies "Every time. All you need to do now is get plenty of rest, drink lots of water and in three or four days your cold will be gone - guaranteed!"

Hope your feeling better. :sunny:

Well after 8 years as live aboards we just sold our cold remedy a few weeks ago. Sad to see the ol' girl go. She kept me physically fit buffing her bottom and keeping her main trimmed. Yeah I seem to have acquired a second caliing after restoring the mahogany trim on the Catalina. The other marina owners, some of them live-aboards, want their's done too and are willin' to pay me in cash- $50 hr. which will avoid tedius fiduciary complications! It's tedious: requires disinfecting the wood and five coats of varnish, but I've got the best lookin' hand rails/hatch cover in the marina. I'm currently looking at a 41 foot Cheoy Lee ketch ($45K) up river at Sacramento. The elder owner has it behind his house; 55 hp Yanmar diesel, feathering prop, and auto-tiller; note the indispensable furling jib! http://newimages.yachtworld.com/resize/1/61/36/5106136_20150914165207298_1_XLARGE.jpg?f=/1/61/36/5106136_20150914165207298_1_XLARGE.jpg&w=924&h=693&t=1442278370000My wife has threatened "I'll have to live on it"...I may take her up on the offer:hmph::rock:A view of the mancave; She can join me after the next 'quake! :woot:The preliminary boat-surveydetails BBY:down: http://newimages.yachtworld.com/resize/1/61/36/5106136_20150602160128637_1_XLARGE.jpg?f=/1/61/36/5106136_20150602160128637_1_XLARGE.jpg&w=924&h=693&t=1442278370000 is about $2k:hmmm:http://newimages.yachtworld.com/resize/1/61/36/5106136_20150602160053575_1_XLARGE.jpg?f=/1/61/36/5106136_20150602160053575_1_XLARGE.jpg&w=924&h=693&t=1442278370000

Beautiful! And indeed a sure cure against almost anything bad i'm sure

Furling tech is nice, as long as it does not get stuck in a strong wind, or before an upcoming storm. Better two guys/girls more to stow it all away in time .. but sure nice to have :03:

Nope! single handling is the way to go-naturally, not being totally anti- social...I'm susceptible to a 'siren sweetly singing'!:O:A dream: Despite the fact that this boat is built as a top-of-the-range yacht, she can virtually be sailed single handed. Push buttons located at the steering pedestal allow you to raise and lower the anchor, or set and sheet the sails. "Push button sailing" is no longer just a symbolic expression, it is reality already in the standard version like this Hallberg-Rassy 62>: http://www.hallberg-rassy.com/typo3temp/gc_gallery/2651/_thumb/_HR62Yaghan-41.jpg $? don't even ask:wah:$8**,*** USED! but your paying for the designer Germán Frers!
http://www.hallberg-rassy.com/uploads/RTEmagicC_HR62engineroom.jpg.jpgBasically, I want a 'blue-water' sailor to get out of the BAY around the Farralons or down to Mexico :timeout: on the famous 'HA-HA' cruise; a rite of passage which our most experienced crewmember has done, and back in relative security. The Cheoy Lee will do that ok. The Catalina isn't rigged for it and won't take the strain; I don't trust the 3000lb-keel bolts...even though they were replaced when the boat was bought 2 years ago.:dead:

We had a 44 Peterson which just sold, not as much teak as that Cheoy Lee but they do look somewhat similar. Think it's the age of the boats, anyway furling systems are the best, we had the old Hood Mark I jib furler. Called the manufacturer looking for new bearings one day. Tech support had to find an old timer who knew what a Mark I was. Really liked the day too when we finally broke down and rigged a lazy jack for the main.

Kinda miss that life when your days routine revolved around the time of tides, sunrise, and weather. Now its back to calendars and clocks.

Never had a cold the entire 8 years living aboard her either. :)

2 spoonfulls of honey, a couple of spoons of lemon juice, 6-8 cloves, boiling water and a shot of Irish Whiskey (optional). Tastes ok too.

It works. It's a real energy/vitamin bomb and 10 times better than all those chemicals there are in all those over the counter remedies.

You could of course try it without the honey, lemon juice, cloves and boiling water......

Get well soon

I'll maintain my faith in a tot of Nelsons Blood and some peppermint cordial.
