Ok a few weeks ago I was in the Netherlands I managed to get quite a bit done in the 4 days I was there.
First we have the B80 a Zulu V class submarine which is in a state of disrepair, she has been totally gutted and is likely to be cut up for scrap she is not open to the public unfortunately.

After Amsterdam I headed north to the main area for my visit the home of the Dutch Navy, Den Helder it is indeed a lovely place and a wonderful country my main purpose was to visit the maritime museum.

This is HMNLS Tonjin a Potvis class submarine (sub class of the Dolfijn) she is well worth the visit as is the museum, but while I was there and standing on deck I did get quite a nice glimpse of these two ;)

HMNLS Rotterdam also heading home to port quite ironic im standing on a former Dutch naval submarine and these two modern vessels pass me.

Probably the most famous mine sweeper of WWII she escaped Surabya by disguising herself as a tropical island

Schopoien is the largest exhibit built in 1868 she wasn't fully decommissioned until 1982 even though she was struck from the naval register in 1906!

After Den Helder I headed to Gronigen then onto Den Haag and finally Rotterdam to see this.

Yup this is the SS Rotterdam now at home in her name sake city, she is now part museum and part hotel
My Dash around the Netherlands kept me very busy I have a very big schedule and many more places to go and visit so stay tuned to the album as it will increase !
