just do an uninstall plus delete any remaining files left behind, then do a reinstall and then before doing anything else, make a copy of the complete fresh unmolested data folder so you always have any backup files you need for the game.

its damn near a requirement for adding mods or just using them because things WILL always get borked at some point

Webster's suggestion is the best way to do it. Stock files from another computer may not work properly on yours. Plus you have the backup files on hand.

Okidoki, thank you for your advice :)
Also, I am now wanting to try the rfb rsrdc side of things, after having playied for 5 months with TMO rsrd.
Any good mods to go along with it that you can suggest to me? :salute:

I went to a more drastic step. Immediately after installation I copied my entire Wolves of the Pacific directory to an external drive, renamed it Silent Hunter Pristeen and write protected the whole shebang.

Now when I get mod soup OR get a corrupted game file of any kind all I have to do is copy back to my Wolves of the Pacific directory, write enable everything and be ready to go.

This is especially important if you have bought the downloadable version of U-Boat Missions. To reinstall that you have to contact Ubi to get licensed for yet another installation. Since borking game files is a hobby of mine that would be impractical and my Silent Hunter Pristeen strategy makes all that malarkey completely unnecessary.

As far as other mods to go with RFB or even TMO, my advice is keep it simple. Even RSRDC, loudly advertised as being TMO or RFB compatible, is not at all compatible. When you play TMO/RSRDC you are no longer playing TMO, you are playing RSRDC. Same with RFB. Layering on top of the supermod leaves you not playing the supermod any longer. Environmental mods and RSRDC are most guilty of changing gameplay in bad ways. As an example, both RFB and TMO incorporate Duci's Evil Airplanes. They can see you at periscope depth and sometimes deeper to bomb you when you're submerged. Adds a whole new dimension to stalking your prey and is very realistic. Lurker hated Duci's Evil Airplanes and when you play TMO/RSRDC or RFB/RSRDC one of the many unannounced gameplay changes is that the Evil Airplanes are removed. RSRDC is NOT just a campaign mod. It's a supermod in its own right which replaces any supermod that it is installed on top of.

There are mods you can install with confidence that they won't change intended gameplay. Even there you're trusting the modder not to stray outside his announced changes. But generally boat skins, keyboard mods, plotting mods, radio and gramophone mods, and periscope mods tend to be safe. In general, a mod that doesn't have to be installed in port tends to make fewer gameplay changes than one you must install in port.

I absolutely agree with you, but since planes are already a huge threat for my stile of gameplay I don' t really mind that aspect.
Anyway I then opted for a mod list made out of
RFB
RSRDC
Improved stock environment v.1
And a little skin mod that I made for myself, representing my most beloved ship, The USS Trout (ss-202)
Third time I get assigned to this sub :har:
Once it was a salmon Class, then a Trench class and finally the actual Tambor Class, wich the real sub was in real life :rotfl2:
