I'm researching hydrophones in use in WWI. I know the British submarines had hydrophones that they could deploy from their submarines, but I don't know about the U.S. Navy N-type submarine? Does anyone know about this, or can anyone suggest a good source?

World War I Type SE-4214 (SC) sound receiver as it was installed on a U.S. submarine.
