Hi all, recently purchased SH3 off steam for next to nothing, has quickly become my game of choice 24/7 for weeks now. I started playing base game with knowledge of GWX and played through 4 patrols before I could no longer resist the urge to install the great super mod pack. After some issues regarding the CTD's and some careful reading here in the forums I have updated a few things and got a stable game happening. Currently in late half of 3rd patrol and sinking ships like an iceberg to the Titanic but wondering now if I should've installed Commander and weather Living Silent hunter is the later/better mod of the two super mods.

Im not sure if I can now install Commander this late in campaign or if I do will I need to restart? this not really being an option as progress has taken nearly two weeks to get back to where I was up to in base game after having to restart a couple of times already with mod change teething issues (now sorted)...

Suggestions? : Stick to GWX 3.0 and install commander aswell

or:
try Living silent hunter???? also with Commander

If anyone is still playing this version of Silent Hunter III or is there something altogether graphically superior with the same level of immersion as SH3 but up to date?

Ive read reviews on SH 4 and 5 but seems Sh3 with mods may be better gameplay with Gfx just enhanced by mods but not quite equal in quality to the later titles...

Have not attempted multiplayer yet as still enjoying campaign also who would still be playing?

Oh would also like to thank (hope Im correct here remembering) Sailor Steve for the German music sound downloads as these really help in the immersion for the game.... lol Im a 38 yo Aussie bloke in the year 2015 groovin away to German tracks from the 1930's and lovin it.. Even found myself hummin the odd track in the car (hehehe) dont tell my motorcycle mates....

Would really appreciate some feedback on choices for mods or possible different modern nautical games, realistic sailing tallships other than Assasin's Creed Black Flag (Great game graphically and tallships wise just needs more simulation realism)...
Submarine games with the gfx quality of AC Black flag would be nice :yeah:

There is no "best". Everything is subjective, and you'll find as many different setups as there are players. Deciding what is best for you requires a little work but in the end is almost as fun as playing the game itself.

Yeah, Steve, I think you are the reference when it comes to that part of the game:D.

That's real dedication...:yeah: (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=217586)
