Two days ago, I gave our small yorkie a bath and put him in fenced in patio to dry. He can go out anytime through basement dog door, no way to get out of fence, very secure to a concrete patio. I go out 15 minutes later, he was gone. I couldn't figure it, everything shut and secure and our big poodle was out there too. He is a retired AKA champion and International champion, but blind in one eye and back legs bad from disc.... If u let him loose just to run in yard, he never goes far, sits until u pick him up. I looked everywhere for all day yesterday.
.
I figured a hawk had to get him as he's about 5 lbs.

Wife works with numerous rescues and some dog psychic messaged her on fb. Seems she is famous working with rescues. ...said she would try to contact our dog. She knew nothing but basic info. She first saw him in a red fence, his fence is red. She said something took him and dropped him and he was stuck or wedged in a hole with rocks. She said she contacted him and she sensed a pile of rotten leaves... I don't believe this crap, but wife freaking, so yes, there's a pile where I dump leaves every year back of yard near the woods, down the hill into the creek. She then said without knowing is there a creek or culvert near. Yes.... She then said.....she was talking to my dog.... and that he was taken by a dognapper, when I walked out, he dropped the dog and ran and it fell into a hole. There is a path on the other side of the culvert that does lead to a road and other neighborhood. She then said she saw a pile of rocks....theres a lot there... So here I am middle of night in woods getting eat up by bugs....looking in numerous holes, some old pipes back there...had bear with me and if bear heard him he would go to him.......

........crazy, told me to listen to my heart for the pull......like what pull...tingle in my left foot. I felt nothing. She said he knew I was near and he was in bad shape, but she would tell him to bark.... I listened, could hear nothing.

Ending...I never found him...I searched to exhaustion until 30 minutes ago. All she did was terrify wife and break her heart really. Strange she knew so much seemingly. So many possible holes... She said she told him to try and hang on, but she sensed he was fading and wouldn't make it much longer. Finally she said......she lost all contact and he fell asleep or passed away, she would try in the morning.

So I don't believe, but i'll be going through it all again when I have daylight and can see.

I'll go look to look, but I think this is nutso. She dog nut gave me this update this morning.

"Ok i think I connected with him about 10 mins ago - he can hear dogs barking in the distance. Rocks still an image but not stuck in them. I asked him for a smell, and the image came through of green moss. I asked him if he could smell water and got an immediate no."

Great.......green moss, only 100 acres of green moss all over.

changed her mind again....

said she wasn't seeing green moss, but a green cabinet near a garage and he was there and now speaking to her from the spirit world and had passed, but he died near a green cabinet...

neighbor across the road, garage and a green cabinet under like just a side roof.

not sure about green cabinet, but garbage man had just emptied her can and I got a strong smell of dead animal. i think most likely ran over by their daughter and tossed in the can, cuz even empty strong smell dead animal. the old lady is nice, daughter nut mean arse and wouldn't say. anyway, done with the nut lady.

Very sad story.

Did you ever figure out how the little guy got out of the yard in the first place?

I know when I do the home visits for our rescue, we look carefully. You would be surprised what a small motivated dog can get past.

Very sorry to read this.

No, The fence is around a concrete patio and tight, he has constantly gone out to that area by himself for a year.

My guess is this, the neighbors granddaughter, a 8 year old brat often visits and she has twice came in the fence to play with the dog. She was there that day. My guess is it got out and went into their drive and at that time the daughter came to pick her up and ran over the dog and trashed it.

I noticed yesterday the son was washing the garbage can out yesterday with bleach. They do know it's a retired show dog that can still breed.

I have replaced the latch, she just go in and out it so much, it was too much of a pain to put a lock on it.

Haven't not seen or knowing, obvious I can't accuse, I just know their was a dead animal in that trash can when it was emptied.

I do hope that you put the latch out of a kids/brats reach.

220 volt AC might be overkill, but 24 volt DC would work. Give them a little tingle. No joke. You have the right to protect your livestock.
