Just got a new contact request on Skype. I get one every few days, usually from some so-called woman wanting to "party". I always decline, block them and report it as spam.
Today's was a bit different:
"[13:04:40] *** Daniel Schmand would like to add you on Skype
Dear Mr. Bradfield
I am Mr. Daniel Schmand, a senior Managing Director of ICC head control Duetch Bank and International Commercial Bank, I got your information during my search on your Country Chambers of Commerce and I decided to write you this proposal in good faith, and i hope you will reliable, honest to handle this Great Transaction which will be benefits of both family
in 2011 one Mr. Ahmed Bradfield whose first or surname is same as yours and has your country in his file as his place of origin, made a fixed deposit for 28 months, valued at ($6,500,000,00 )Six million Five Hundred Thousand USD) with my bank. maturity date for this deposit contract was 10th of June 2013.Sadly Mr. Ahmed was among the death victims in the September 2013 earthquake in Indonesia that left over 1,200 people dead while he was there on business trip.
Some directors here have been trying to find out from me the information about this account and the owner, but I have kept it closed because, I know that if they become aware that Mr. Ahmed is late, they will corner the funds for themselves. Therefore, I will like to seek for your permission as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to Mr. Ahmed since you have the same first or surname, so that my bank headquarters will pay the funds to you. and this is 100% secure no risk involved as it is going to be Bank to Bank Transfer and it will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect us from any breach of law. and you only have to put in your information details into the networking Data System in the bank computers to reflect you as the rightful next of kin
If you concur with this proposal, I intend for you to retain 50% of the funds while 50% shall be for me. Kindly forward your response to me. Email: ***"
So I had a rich relative in Indonesia who left me his fortune???
Everybody gets emails like this from time to time. This is the first time I've had one on Skype.
