Silent Hunter 3 stuck on pause and black screen

Ahoy Captains! :Kaleun_Salute:
so I now have putted about 63 hours into sh4 and I decided to take a break from it.
So I had 5€ in my steam portfolio and eventually decided to get sh3
so I download it, boot it up and it seems to run in an odd 1024 by 768 windowed.
There is no resolution option as far as I can tell so I just put it in full screen and restart the game.
The sound also was muted apparently.
than I try and load the navigation tutorial and when it eventually loads up the game is stuck on pause and all that I can see is a black screen with ''game paused'' and the UI i can click on whatever i whant but nothing happens :/\\!!

Looks like either a faulty download or you've installed into C:Programs (if you're running W7 or W8).

yes I am now in fact going to re install the game,it's currently installed in D:\steamapps\Steamlibrary\Common\SH3 and if it doesen't work, well steam refounds are there :D

If you can't get the steam install to work, you can buy a disk version from Amazon for $10.00, and it will include SH2 as well.

well, I made it.
it works very nicely even with GWX installed!
looks live it was just steam being a tw*t!
